Jessie Marino is a composer/performer based in New York City. Her current compositional interests explore the interplay of duality, conflict, ritual and humor through the genre of Composed Theater. These works rigorously score out sound, physical movements, lighting and staging and place them within highly organized time structures and musical forms. She has recently received support from the Headlands Foundation, Stamas Family Scholarship from Lincoln Center, the Aaron Copland Fund, Meet the Composer, New York Foundation for the Arts, Northern Manhattan Artists Alliances and the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust. As a cellist, Jessie plays regularly with Ensemble Pamplemousse and the Wet Ink Ensemble and is a founding member of the sound-centric performance duo On Structure. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree at Wesleyan University.
